Teach Access by Design
A flexible, on-demand training program that combines asynchronous learning with optional live sessions to introduce educators and administrators to foundational concepts in disability, accessibility, and universal design.
Teach Access by Design is a flexible, on-demand training program that combines asynchronous learning with optional live sessions to introduce educators and administrators to foundational concepts in disability, accessibility, and universal design. Participants are guided through a series of learning resources, activities, and discussions to understand how these concepts intersect with their disciplines and roles in education. They also have the opportunity to apply the principles of accessible and universal design to their pedagogy and curriculum.
The full program includes three modules with an estimated total time commitment of 30 hours, which includes reviewing course materials, participating in asynchronous discussions, completing knowledge checks and applied exercises, and attending four synchronous sessions.
The key distinction of this version of the program is the active engagement between facilitators and participants through both synchronous sessions and asynchronous activities. Participants have the opportunity to apply and discuss what they’ve learned, build community with peers, and receive feedback on their work.
The Essentials version of the program offers a streamlined introduction to the core concepts from the three modules. This abridged format focuses primarily on reviewing curated resources and completing brief knowledge checks to reinforce learning. Unlike the full program, “The Essentials” does not include asynchronous discussions or applied activities. The only required activities are the knowledge checks, though participants are welcome to engage in discussion during the synchronous sessions.
Each version of the program includes a base fee, plus a per-participant fee that supports the instructional resources needed to deliver a high-quality, engaging experience. If the cost doesn’t quite fit your budget, let’s talk! We’re committed to making accessibility education affordable and believe that training should never be out of reach. For each organization, we manage the full lifecycle of the program:
Includes conducting audience research to tailor content, curating high-quality resources, revising materials based on findings and program goals, and designing relevant instructional activities. We also develop a detailed instructional plan with clear milestones and deadlines, build and launch the course in the learning platform, and coordinate all aspects of live sessions, such as securing guest speakers, arranging captioning and ASL services, and managing session logistics.
Involves publishing course content, onboarding participants through clear and timely communications, providing ongoing support, preparing and distributing session recordings with verified captions, and compiling program reports that document progress, impact, and areas for improvement.
Focuses on supporting participant success by providing regular communication, answering questions, and encouraging continued engagement. We foster peer learning and reflection through asynchronous discussions, offer timely and constructive feedback on assignments, and lead four live sessions that guide participants through interactive learning activities and meaningful discussions.
