Teach Access February 2026 Monthly Update

By April 7, 2026 No Comments

A Note from Kate’s Desk

I’m just getting back from an incredible week in Vienna for the Zero Project Conference, where I connected with many of our Teach Access Europe community members and met many new friends excited about our work.

We’re now moving into really celebrating 10 years of Teach Access! We’ve launched a community T-shirt Design Challenge to spark engagement, opened registration for our virtual event featuring Lex Gillette on April 21, and are continuing to build momentum for our $1.5 Million for the Next 1.5 Million Students campaign.

I’m energized by the collaboration coming out of the Zero Project Conference, and I am inspired by the passion of our global community. Thank you for being part of this journey with us. Together, we’re building a more accessible future with the next generation of learners!

Rolando’s Learning Lab

Our 2026 Student Academy is tomorrow and Friday! We are excited for this year’s lineup of speakers, a great mix of emerging, experienced, and unique voices in accessibility and disability inclusion. Huge thanks to all of our presenters, volunteers, and sponsors for making this event possible. If you missed the deadline to register for the live event, you can register to receive the recordings once they are ready.

Mindy’s Partnership Pulse

We’re deeply grateful to everyone who has contributed to Teach Access’s $1.5 Million for the Next 1.5 Million Students campaign. Thanks to the generosity of individual donors and corporate sponsors, we’ve secured $655,000 in pledges. We still have important work ahead, and more funds to raise to expand accessibility education for the next generation of learners. We hope you’ll consider a gift today.

Renike’s Data Dive

As we’ve continued to dive deeper into our data, we’ve found that faculty engaged with our programs across more than 60 countries! This highlights the ongoing global demand for accessibility education.

Bringing together participants from every region, including Africa and Asia to Europe, North and South America, and beyond, this demonstrates that our programs reach across continents. We’re using this to fuel our continued efforts to tailor the training and resources we have to the needs of different regions and communities.

Celebrating 10 Years of Teach Access

As part of our 10-year celebration, we invite you to join a special virtual event on Tuesday, April 21, from 2–3 p.m. ET, featuring Lex Gillette! Lex is the most decorated totally blind long jumper in U.S. Paralympic history, an acclaimed public speaker, an author, and a Teach Access Board Member. The event is free to attend, with donations encouraged to support our mission. Advanced registration is required. Lex will also be auctioning off a 30-minute coaching/mentorship/keynote session to support Teach Access, with bidding opening on Thursday, April 16, at 9 am ET and closing on Thursday, April 23, at 4 pm ET.

Corporate sponsorships are also available and include tickets to an exclusive virtual VIP experience. To learn more about sponsorship opportunities, please contact Mindy.
