Teach Access Goes Global!

In case you missed it, part of the Teach Access team traveled to Kenya at the start of the month for the Inclusive Africa Conference. There the team was able to network with folks across the continent all working toward disability inclusion and justice. An added bonus was spending a day doing training on inclusive and accessible teaching with more than 40 faculty and staff at the United States International University-Africa in Nairobi, Kenya.

Verizon Celebrates 35th Anniversary of  Americans with Disabilities Act

On June 3rd, at Verizon’s 35 Years of People and Technology event at Civic Hall in New York City, Mindy Kolin, Director of Development & Industry Partnerships, spoke on the panel “Advancing Accessibility in Learning Environments” alongside Sandy Lacey, Executive Director of the Howe Innovation Center at Perkins School for the Blind. This celebration of 35 years of the Americans with Disabilities Act was a remarkable testament to the hard work, advocacy, and innovation of countless individuals and organizations dedicated to advancing disability rights and accessibility.

Teach Access by Design: HETS Cohort Wrap-Up

We’re excited to celebrate the successful conclusion of the HETS (Hispanic Technology Education Services) cohort of Teach Access by Design! This round, we welcomed 192 registrants, with 58 active participants fully engaging in the course, and an impressive 60% completion rate. The HETS cohort included educators and practitioners from across the United States and Puerto Rico, representing more than 15 Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs).

Throughout the program, participants explored key accessibility principles, Universal Design for Learning (UDL), and practical strategies to help close the accessibility skills gap in higher education.

Connecting Teach Access

Like many nonprofits, we’re navigating a challenging funding climate. Everything we offer is free and open and continued impact requires support from individuals, foundations, corporate sponsors, and corporate foundations alike. Every single donation, no matter how small, truly makes a difference. If you know someone who believes in digital accessibility and can help fund this work, we’d love an introduction. Your support means everything right now: donate to Teach Access

Your support allows our programs and resources to remain free, removing financial barriers to access.
